Client:

San Francisco Bay Guardian

What They Do:

The Bay Area’s premier alternative newspaper

Our Challenge:

The client was suddenly locked in a struggle for survival with a competitor that was new to town and had VERY deep pockets.

Our Solution:

Create a campaign tying online, offline and traditional media. Within six weeks a program was developed linking their customers, readers and sales force by synchronizing web response, sales promotion, employee incentives, product development, and service development. A non-profit foundation was linked into the marketing campaign linking the Guardian’s name to a visible public benefit, forcing the competition to say nice things about them.

Our Results:

The San Francisco Bay Guardian remains The Bay Area’s premier alternative newspaper.

Client:

Ed Brown Senior Center

Provides programs to mature adults interested in maximizing and enjoying the best years of their lives.

Developed and implemented a $1,000 in Free Groceries giveaway. Three-month campaign included print media, public relations, pay per click, SEO, point of sale, drip campaigns, and word-of-mouth marketing.

Our Results:

11 print ads, one newspaper flier insert, 15 in-depth newspaper stories, 48,000 PPC impressions, and a 48% increase in web site traffic over the previous three months.

Our Results:

CampusFundraiser’s customer maintenance effort is low-key, keeping the company name before their audience at all times in a non-threatening and very effective way. “The MarketBuilding Team’s efforts have made a tremendous difference in our customer interactions,” says VP/Marketing Dan Wolman. “Prospects are quicker to recognize our name and our product, and we’ve sped up the process for closing the sale.”

Talk to thousands of customers, one at a time, and make them feel like they really matter.

Our Solution:

Develop a regularly-scheduled newsletter to cross-market five divisions and maintain mindshare while keeping costs low. The newsletter is written with a “folksy” attitude and a touch of humor, helping maintain customer feelings that they’re dealing with an old-fashioned merchant who truly believes in customer service.

Our Results:

Newsletter readership has increased by over 50% since this campaign was initiated. Readers are loyal, web site traffic has increased by 36% over a year ago, and sales are up significantly across all divisions of the company.
